This one-day hands-on course includes training on the production of site plans, engineering profiles, 3D boreholes and geological models using the Autodesk Geotechnical Module or the HoleBASE SI Extension for AutoCAD Civil 3D.
1 day, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Current Autodesk and Keynetix technology can transform the way subsurface and geology data is managed and visualized. By applying BIM principles and using the correct tools the subsurface can be modelled and visualized in a fraction of the normal time.In this course we will look at the techniques involved in managing geotechnical data to allow it to be quickly and easily visualized in AutoCAD Civil 3D, enabling new techniques to better understand and explore the subsurface data.
This course has been compiled for Geotechnical Engineers and CAD Technicians with some experience on using AutoCAD. Those considering this course should have the following experience:- Familiarity with site investigation process- A working knowledge of AutoCAD
About the Instructor:Gary Morin is the Technical Director and Co-Founder of Keynetix. He originally trained as a Civil Engineer and has over 27 years of experience of working in the production and support of a range of software including GIS, CAD specializing in spatial information management.
Gary is passionate about the use of Geotechnical BIM as a means of integrating the geotechnical process into the wider construction project, he says this will help promote a better understanding of geotechnics and will lead to better designs. He heads up the geotechnical Building Information Modelling (BIM) development and is responsible for the design and support services for a range of products designed to manage the geotechnical data in the BIM process, including the Geotechnical Module from Autodesk and the advances of HoleBASE SI Extension for AutoCAD Civil 3D software.
