Objective:

This course introduces you to the essentials of Autodesk NavisWorks 2009.

Topics Include:

Autodesk NavisWorks software consists of four products to help you and your extended teams
experience enhanced control, confident collaboration, and reliable information aggregation on even
your most complex projects. We will discuss the essential topics for each of the modules that come
with the complete Autodesk NavisWorks Manage product.
  • Autodesk® NavisWorks® Manage
  • Autodesk® NavisWorks® Simulate
  • Autodesk® NavisWorks® Review
  • Autodesk® NavisWorks® Freedom

In the course we will discuss the process for combining the high-quality information created by BIM
applications such as Revit®-based software, AutoCAD Architecture and AutoCAD MEP, as well as
geometry and data from other design tools, Autodesk NavisWorks products enable a real-time,
whole-project view for effective 3D coordination, 4D planning, photorealistic visualization, dynamic
simulation, and accurate analysis.

Design and construction management professionals will learn advanced analysis and coordination of
3D models. Design data created in building information modeling (BIM) applications such as the
Revit® family of products can be combined with geometry and information from other design tools
and reviewed as an entire project, regardless of file size or format. Early fault prediction and error
recognition help prevent later, more costly, miscalculations. NavisWorks Manage combines precise
fault-finding analysis of interferences together with dynamic 4D simulation of project schedules and
photorealistic visualization.
