Discussion groups, also
known as newsgroups, are internet-based
forums available for discussing specific topics, sometimes
with a very narrow focus. You may join a newsgroup, voice
your opinions and read the opinions of others on just
about any topic you can think of. There are, literally,
tens of thousands of such groups available for you to
browse.
The Autodesk Discussion Groups are located on the Autodesk
Point A website at http://discussion.autodesk.com.
You may access these discussion groups using your web
browser or your newsreader. It is easier for most people
to use their browser for this. Another reason it is better
to use your browser is that using your newsreader you
may have to download thousands of message headers that
use up alot of space on your harddrive.
You can use the Autodesk newsgroups to find answers to
questions that cannot be answered anyplace else, sometimes
even by Autodesk support technicians.
Another very good newsgroup resource is Google Groups
at http://groups.google.com.
Google has fully integrated the past 20 years of Usenet
archives into Google Groups, which now offers access to
more than 700 million messages dating back to 1981. This
is by far the most complete collection of Usenet articles
ever assembled and a fascinating first-hand historical
account. |
