Realease 3.0
Increase efficiency, accuracy, and design flexibility with Autodesk®
Revit® 3.0 Structure engineering and documentation
software. Revit Structure integrates a physical model—for
layout, coordination, and documentation — with independently
editable analytical models for multiple analyses. Model from
scratch or over 2D CAD files from the architect. Or, for even
more powerful coordination, link directly to intelligent 3D
architectural models from Autodesk® Architectural Desktop
or Autodesk® Revit® Building applications. Bidirectional
linking to industry-leading analysis software means analysis
results update your model accurately—while proven parametric
change management technology coordinates those updates everywhere
in your design and documentation.

Work Faster and Increase Productivity
Does your engineering team spend too much time on laborious and repetitive
tasks, such as entering the same information for various analysis models
and again for construction documents? Autodesk Revit Structure provides
a timesaving solution that enables engineers to create a single building
model for different types of analyses and for all construction documents.

Work Better and Improve Quality
Are you looking for a better way to handle design changes and reduce
coordination errors? Autodesk Revit Structure minimizes manual
view updates as well as the headaches associated with last-minute changes.
Every drawing sheet, every 2D and 3D view, every detail, and every schedule
is a direct representation of the same underlying building database,
so a change anywhere is updated everywhere. In addition, Revit Structure
enables all construction
documentation to accurately reflect any design change resulting from
linked third-party analysis.
Work Smarter and Increase Coordination
What if you could improve collaboration among the entire design team?
Autodesk Revit Structure models link to Autodesk® Architectural
Desktop, Autodesk® Building Systems, and Autodesk® Revit®
Building for efficient coordination between structural engineers, MEP
engineers, and architects.
Features: One
single model for both physical and analytical
Autodesk® Revit® Structure combines a physical model of the
building fully associated with an analytical model editable by the structural
engineer. While the physical model is used for drawing production and
coordination, the analytical model is used by third-party structural
analysis applications. Any design changes made during the analysis automatically
update the Revit Structure model as well as the construction documents.
Bidirectional associativity between model and views
In Revit Structure, every 2D and 3D view, every drawing sheet, every
detail and every schedule is a direct presentation of information
from the same underlying building database, so each time you make changes,
it propagates those changes throughout the model and updates every related
plan, section, elevation, or schedule. This key feature of Autodesk
Revit Structure makes all the difference in the system’s ease-of-use
and responsiveness, helping to eliminate coordination errors and improve
overall documentation quality.

Bidirectional links with multiple analysis packages
The Revit Structure analytical model is dynamically linked with external
structural analysis and design programs such as the industry-leading
ETABS software from Computer and Structures Inc. and RISA-3D software
from RISA Technologies.
Bidirectional linking means that analysis results accurately and automatically
update your model if any member size has changed. And parametric change
technology coordinates those updates everywhere in your project views
and construction drawings.
Multiple materials
You can use several materials such as steel, cast-in-place concrete,
precast concrete, masonry, or wood. You can mix different materials
in the same structural model.
Parametric structural components
Revit Structure offers a full set of structural design tools such as
walls, joist systems, beams, trusses, open web joists, precast concrete
elements, concrete rebars, steel connections, anchors, metal decks details,
etc. Parametric definitions allow quick revisions to any object types.
New objects or details or symbols are graphically created and stored
in families that you can edit and reuse in several projects.
Powerful drawings production
Revit Structure automates the repetitive and manual drafting tasks
done in conventional CAD systems. Sections, elevations, and call-out
detail views can be cut instantly. Referencing of sections, elevations,
and details is done automatically in accordance to the sheets numbers.
With the bidirectional associativity described above, any change in
any view is propagated in every related view and drawings stay fully
coordinated. Details can be based on views of the model with added graphics,
or independent 2D drawings created in Revit Structure or conventional
CAD files imported or linked into the project.
DWG/DXF/DGN support
Autodesk Revit Structure imports, exports, and links your data with
the industry’s best DWG compatibility. Native support for DWG,
DXF™, and DGN formats assures fully compatible data exchange.
Revit Structure supports the traditional workflow where structural modeling
starts with 2D DWG files provided by the architect.

Worksharing
Worksharing distributes the power of the parametric building modeling
environment across the project team on Revit platform. You share the
same intelligent building information model in one file. Worksharing
provides a complete range of collaboration modes: within a structural
engineering firm, between engineers and drafters; also within an architectural
engineering firm, between engineers and architects and drafters working
with them.
Bidirectional links with Autodesk Architectural
Desktop
For better coordination with architects using Autodesk® Architectural
Desktop, Revit Structure imports 3D object-based architectural models
and also exports 3D structural objects back to Architectural Desktop.
This link also allows for collaboration with MEP engineers using Autodesk®
Building Systems. Structural engineers can export their structural elements
into Autodesk Building Systems for interference checking between ducts
and pipes and structural members.
Interoperability with Autodesk Revit Building
Engineers and architects can take full advantage of the Revit building
information modeling platform and work more efficiently on the same
shared database. They can perform interference checking between architectural
and structural members. And for ultimate coordination, they can receive
electronic notifications about the design changes made by either party.
