Increase
productivity by using a powerful
infrastructure design solution
Autodesk® Survey 2007
software streamlines and automates field data collection, cost-effectively
closing the gap between gathering data and incorporating it into drawings
using Autodesk® Land Desktop.
Interface with a broad variety of industry-leading data collectors, survey
instruments, and GPS receivers, and then work with tools and functionality
in Autodesk Land Desktop to create accurate drawings quickly. Use field
coding for automatic linework and mapping. Use Survey to share survey
data with civil engineering, GIS, and land-planning professionals. Autodesk
Survey 2007 streamlines all aspects of data collection by eliminating
keystrokes, saving time, and supporting the accuracy of field data.
Overview
Upload
the Data—Output Drawings Fast
Autodesk® Survey software works with Autodesk® Land
Desktop to automatically create linework, points, symbols,
and terrain model breaklines directly from field survey data.
Connect field codes to create lines and curves on user-defined
layers. Automatically add symbols from description keys when
you add points to project databases. Generate terrain models
using linework as breaklines. After you complete your design,
field crews can transmit proposed grade points to the data
collector for stakeout.
Lose Nothing in Translation
Automatic creation of AutoCAD® format DWG files in Autodesk
Survey means you never have to worry about translating between
the data and the drawing. Communicate with more survey instruments
than ever, including data collectors, total stations, and
global positioning system (GPS) receivers. You can even convert
ASCII and coordinate data to and from a wide range of formats.
Autodesk Survey supports tabular input with fieldbook creation
and editing tools. Autodesk Survey features new support for
a wide variety of survey equipment via Carlson Connect™
and Trimble® Link.
Features
Capabilities of Autodesk Land Desktop
2006—New
Autodesk® Survey 2006 works within Autodesk® Land Desktop
2006 software, so it incorporates all the features of the latest
release. The new 2006 platform saves you time and money by providing
improved production drafting, predesign/planning capabilities,
as well as additional reporting capabilities.
Survey Toolspace Enhancements—New
Enhancements to the Survey Toolspace improve performance, including
a Setup Item preview window that is displayed when a setup item
is selected. Faster processing and improved usability increase
performance and create a better user experience.
Survey Command Language Extension—New
The Survey command language now provides the ability to define
multiple points on a curve within an active figure. This lets
you efficiently create base figures from data captured in the
field.
Setup Item Preview Window in the Survey Toolspace—New
The Setup Item preview window is a graphical view of all the
points and figures observed at the selected setup. Confirm that
you are working with the correct Survey “setup”
by visually checking that there are no obvious breaks in the
data.
Exporting Survey Figures to a Field Book—New
Export figures to a field book file from either the Network
item or from the Figures collection. The modified Figure Settings
dialog box provides settings to control the exporting of figures
with their referenced coordinate geometry (COGO) points for
increased usability that streamlines your work process.
Create 3D Polylines from Figures—New
Create 3D polylines from one or many existing survey figures
to a specified layer. Convert 2D figures to 3D polylines for
use as breaklines and grading features, and for visualization
purposes.
Input and Editing of Survey Breaklines

Manage, edit, and build accurate surfaces more quickly from
survey figures using the Survey Toolspace.
Sideshot and Traverse Editor

The Survey Toolspace simplifies the way you edit, view, and
manage Sideshot and Traverse observations.
Bidirectional Data Collector Communication

An updated version 7.5.5 of TDS Link, Trimble®
Link, and Carlson Connect™ provides seamless communication
with a wide variety of industry-standard survey instruments
and data collectors and improves your ability to move data
to and from the field.
Traverse Analysis

Use industry-standard methodologies, including Least Squares,
Compass, Transit, and Crandall, to analyze and adjust traverse.
Automated Drafting

Significantly improve your drafting productivity.
When using description keys and field key codes, the import
fieldbook command automatically drafts points, symbols, and
lines and curves—all on the specific layers defined
by the user.
GPS Communication

Updated Trimble Link and Carlson Connect software provide
seamless data transfer between Autodesk's civil software products
and industry leading GPS communication systems. Trimble Link
connects directly to Trimble's TSCe™ Controller running
the Trimble Survey Controller™ software, Trimble's TSC1™
Controller running the Trimble Survey Controller software,
and PC card for use with Trimble's SiteVision® system.
